Usonian modern house. Architecture
Sitting among the forest of oak trees in upstate New York, the Usonian house is inspired both by it's idyllically local context as well as Frank Lloyd Wright’s Usonian home concept with an open carport and flat roofs. The one level 3,000sf home features wrap around clerestory windows that filter light deep inside while it's high performance roof keeps the interior space warm and cozy in the harsh winter months. Our clients are conservationist and environmentalists whose shared love for outdoors was fulfilled by the visual connections with the land and the lake beyond.
